Organisational improvement
We carry out assignments aimed to improve corporate organisation and management systems, such as:
- Business and auxiliary processes within an organisation
- Major functions and tasks related to individual processes
- Organisational structures understood as interrelated organisational units (reporting and functional relations)
- Management centres – decision-making centres and processes
- Operating standards and procedures and their formal expressions
Most often, projects aimed to improve organisational and management systems are started with a review audit (detailed diagnosis) to assess a current solution in place and identify its major features and functions.
A review audit is followed by examination of an organisational structure in terms of its ability to deliver a corporate strategy; identification of major corporate processes; compliance checks with organisation and management theory (good practice compliance); and identification of major points of failure and negative effects of continued irregularities.
Our objective here is to design necessary organisational and management modifications to remove any identified irregularities or reinforce any positive system aspects. The design may be in the form of a schematic model presenting proposed modifications, or a ready-to-deploy application model complete with an implementation programme.
An integral part of our product is to prepare organisational documentation including a process map, detailed process descriptions, organisational regulations, employee duty descriptions, job position descriptions, procedures and other detailed instructions.
We use a variety of tools and information sources to:
- Identify and rebuild processes
- Analyse organisation-related documentation
- Carry out employee surveys
- Conduct interviews with managers, owners and members of company governing bodies
- Carry out benchmark comparisons
Our organisational improvement projects cover entire organisations or their selected parts (functions, units or levels). As a result of our work, we are able to:
- Identify basic dysfunctional areas and sources of conflict within an organisation
- Devise modifications to remove causes of dysfunctions or conflicts
- Provide independent and unbiased opinion on how an organisation functions.
